When Users take Product Design into their own hands
Lets talk about a great example of when a Product is failing its users and those users have found a workaround. I’ll start by asking you a question — do you own an iPhone and use it in your car to play music via usb cable?
If you do, bear with me a moment whilst I explain this to all the Android users out there….
When you plug in an iPhone into a cars USB to play music it will autoplay the first song in your Library in an alphabetised order. Sounds like a good thing right? But…It’ll even do this if you were previously listening to another song on your headphones before connecting it to USB. What about if you use your car multiple times a day and always use your iPhone for music in the car? You’ve probably heard that song so many times it is now entirely ruined for you.
